California Economic Summit
The California Economic Summit, led by California Forward (CA FWD), is a statewide initiative that brings together leaders from business, government, academia, philanthropy, and community organizations to build a stronger and more equitable California. Through its annual summit and year-round regional work, CA FWD focuses on economic mobility, workforce development, housing, infrastructure, inclusive innovation, and long-term community resilience. The Summit’s priorities are guided by the California Dream Index and shaped by collaborative action across the state.
During 2020 and 2021, I served on committees focused on financing innovation and improving access to capital for under-resourced communities. Working with leaders from across sectors, I contributed to the exploration of policy solutions, the identification of structural barriers, and the development of strategies to support more inclusive economic outcomes throughout California.
These two years provided a powerful vantage point into how government officials, policy thinkers, business leaders, community advocates, and capital providers work together to strengthen the state’s economic future. The experience deepened my understanding of the systems that shape opportunity and reinforced the importance of cross-sector collaboration. My work with the California Economic Summit remains an important touchpoint in my commitment to building a more resilient, inclusive, and opportunity-rich California.
